Questions we get every week

Most owners answer this by checking their bank balance. That tells you if you can afford the hire today, not whether you can sustain it for 12 months. The real answer requires a cash flow projection that accounts for seasonality, upcoming expenses, and the ramp-up time before the hire generates revenue. That's exactly what our weekly 13-week cash flow projection gives you.

Bookkeeping records what happened. Financial intelligence tells you what it means and what to do about it. A bookkeeper categorizes your transactions and closes your books. A financial intelligence team does that, then builds a report showing you where expenses are creeping, where cash is headed, which parts of the business are actually making money, and what you should do next month. One is a record. The other is a decision-making tool.

Yesterday. Your bank balance tells you one number at one point in time. It doesn't show you the $15K payment due next week, the seasonal dip in two months, or the fact that your margins dropped 4 points last quarter. If you're making any decision bigger than lunch based on your bank balance, you need better data.

A P&L is a summary of what happened last month. It doesn't tell you why revenue dipped, whether your margins are trending in the right direction, what your cash position will look like in 8 weeks, or what you should actually do about any of it. Most owners who get a P&L every month still make their biggest decisions on gut feel. That's the gap financial intelligence fills.

You need operational metrics tied to your financial data. Revenue by service line, margin by client type, cost per unit of delivery. Most bookkeeping setups don't track these things. Our monthly intelligence report breaks down profitability by the segments that matter to your business, so you know where to invest and where to cut.

It depends on your business, but most service businesses should be tracking: gross margin by service line, customer acquisition cost, utilization rate, average revenue per client, and cash runway in weeks. These are the numbers that tell you whether your business is healthy, not just whether it's busy. We customize KPIs for every client based on their industry and business model.

Because profit and cash are not the same thing. Your P&L might show $50K in profit, but if $40K of that is sitting in unpaid invoices and you just made a $25K equipment purchase, your bank account tells a very different story. The gap between profit on paper and cash in hand comes down to three things: receivables timing, debt payments that don't show on the P&L, and owner draws. A 13-week cash flow projection shows you where the money actually is and when it's actually arriving.

Yesterday. Your bank balance is one number at one point in time. It doesn't account for the payroll hitting Friday, the quarterly tax payment next month, or the seasonal dip that's 6 weeks out. Projections show you what's coming so you can make decisions before problems arrive, not after.

About 2-3 hours during the 6-week onboarding. After that, 30 minutes a month reviewing your report. We handle the heavy lifting.

Every member gets a dedicated Slack channel with their finance team. Ask a question about your numbers, a vendor invoice, or a financial decision, and you'll get a real answer the same business day. No tickets, no hold music, no waiting for your monthly call.

90-day guarantee

If we don't identify at least your first month's fee in savings or opportunities within 90 days, we refund every dollar.
